Honrd Sr

My last was under cover to John Lewis and Thomas Doane Esqrs accompanyed
with a peticón of the most considerable proprietr s of the Narrogansett and
Nianti[illegible] Countreys: And hope by yor favour and opportune Indeavours for
gratious acceptance with his Majesty It was then proposed by the Plymouth
agents to send such evidences as could be collected But their Dispatch being
by their Collony Deferd, and finding that ye p[er]sons that can give most p[er]tinent
Testimony, being either Disabled To travell or [arivd] by Road Island their evidences
are not to be obtained but by his Matys speciall comission to be Executed in ye
Countrey, And as [illegible] it would not be safe to send the Originall Deeds
neither would they be very Intelligible, without Such Demonstracóns: Therefore
Wee can now onely Send a Breviate of Case and Title, including some Genll
answer to ye false Suggestions of Randall Holden and John [Green], wch
wee desire may be humbly spread before his Maty , togeather with ye Copy of
his Gratious Letter date the first of June 1663 and ye Counter Order of his Matys
three comissions, which will herewith be p[re]sented to yor selfe.

My Lord Culpepper hath dureing his short stay here been very Inquisitive and
observant, and will I p[re]sume be able to render his Maty a more Certaine
acco: of the state of thes Collonyes, and this and other Controversyes waiting
for his Royall Comission for Determination then hath hitherto been p[re] sented,

Sr The assurance of yor justice and ye advantage yor office and Station gives
yw to serve his Maty and to redress his Subjects soe far distant, gives us ye bold
ness To recommend our Case and friends in the manage thereof yor friendship
and good Direction, and since by yor Charity wee have hopes Mr Harris
may be waiting on yw, wee doubt not but he will be yor constant remem
brancer in this affayre, and yt by his hands wee shall have such an [officiall]
acco: of good success, and such especiall obligacóns in that report to yor selfe
As may inable ye Concernd to most Thankfull acknowldgmts and Return
and give me more occasion to subscribe myselfe

Sr Yor most humble and faithfull Servt
